Pictureless Monday Catch-up

It must truly be spring--I had one snowdrop blossom--and I heard the peepers for the first time today!  The common belief is that the peepers must be frozen off three times for it to be truly spring--but it's been a long winter and I'm grabbing any peepers I can!  Oh, and I killed the first mosquito today (in the house).  And...the groundhogs are out!  (I heard that, Diane!)

There is also a new (at least to me!) hexie blog  (  It is fabulous!  And she has an e-magazine called Hexie Love.  Issue two just came out--wait til you see the designs.  Visit Julia Wood at the link above to learn more.  You can get single magazines  for $5.99, or a 6-issue subscription is only $26.99.  Guess which one I went with!  These are not just your Grandmother's Flower Garden hexies!

My featherweight has been humming while making more samples for the Big Three classes.  For those of you who don't know about them, we make 15-inch finished blocks with the emphasis on three things--accurate cutting, accurate piecing, accurate pressing.  Get it?  The Big 3?  These are real skill-builder classes--no gimmicks, no special rulers, no oversizing/recutting of blocks.

And I've been hand piecing a series of blocks to be used over the summer.  I say these things so that you know I am not just sleeping over here.

That's it for tonight.  Busy week ahead.

Blissful hugs,

P.S.  I am listening to Motive by Jonathan Kellerman.

P.P.S.  Jay, thanks for texting me about last Tuesday.  Hope you are better now.  We missed you.

  1. Hi Sharon,

The link to the hexieblog doesn't work right. At least it doesn't take you to a blog related to quilting. It took me to some strange blog with one post all in German, I think. Strange!

I thought you would want to know.
    Big Hugs,

    1. Hi, Jay! Thanks for the heads-up on the link. I think it's fixed now and Julia is having a sale on subscriptions! One more time with feeling!

Don't be shy! Leave me a's so lonely without hearing from you!
