Horsing Around

Life is short and we need to remember to horse around more (safely!!) Laughter is good for us and is contagious--so let's spread it around!

I've spent most of the day hand quilting. One of my goals for 2011 is to finish at least twelve UFOs. That doesn't mean that I have to hand quilt them or even machine quilt them myself. Just move them from the not-finished pile to the finished pile. With over 120 UFOs to choose from, I'm sure I can manage that. Of course, that doesn't mean that I won't be starting new projects...what a horrid thought! What goals have you set for this year? I'm hoping that writing mine down will make them more real and I'll be more accountable. And, I'll share the finishes here. (I'm really hoping not to have to do all 12 in the last days of December 2011!)

Did everyone survive New Year's Eve? It was the usual ho-hum here--what a stick in the mud! But a safe stick in the mud--so I can be adventurous the rest of the year!

Hugs on this first day of the new year,

Sharon

  1. I'm doing exactly the same thing - writing down all my UFO's and all the projects that are in the queue. They will be divided into 3 groups: knitting, quilting/sewing, cross stitch. Then I want to prioritize them. Hopefully, I will be able to move some to the DONE pile, too! Writing them down will help me to stay focused and not stray off into too many new things (but there be some new things, as you said).

Happy New Year, and thanks for all the great tips!

  2. Your post makes me so happy! 120 UFOs...my 20 or so looks puny in comparison. And here I was thinking I needed to have a shopping moratorium. Thank you and happy new year!

  3. I don't worry about UFOs. If it's unfinished there's usually a good reason - I have a good track record of finishing quilts as I go along.

I'm looking forward to more blogging from Sharon in 2011! Thank you!
